Nicolas Baudin Restaurant features a  natural and relaxed environment  in which you can enjoy an al fresco dining experience in the wilderness and literally watch the wallabies having their dinner, at the same time or you may prefer to dine inside amongst a cozy, friendly atmosphere which has local art displayed throughout the dining room

Visitors coming to KI can taste, feel and see the island, Head Chef Phillip Brown dedicates himself to sourcing all KI/Sa has on offer seasonally and then tops up from other parts of Australia to bring an dining experience that creates memories of a lifetime.

Chef Phil is a strong believer in starting with a solid foundation using what he cherishes from his upbringing in NZ, a traditional, classic method along with his training which has inspired Chef Phil to put a modern, contemporary edge to his cuisine (click here for photo library).

Why Nicholas Baudin?

Nicolas Baudin Restaurant is named after the French naturalist/explorer whom co-founded Kangaroo Island in 1802 (confirm date) along with Mathew Flinders (more info click here)

Kangaroo Island (named by Nicolas Baudin due to the abundance of kangaroos) is located in South Australia and is known as “the jewel in the crown of South Australia”.
